Two years ago I produced a show at the Tranzac Club (one of my favourite spots in Toronto) called Songs We Write, Covers We Love. It was a chance for me to play with and feature some of the best of Toronto's musicians and songwriters, as well as workshop my own tunes before I recorded them on See Us Through. Six shows and many profoundly moving musical experiences later, I made my record and put a pause on the series. Now I've decided to start things up again, but this time, it'll be in New York.
From Toronto to NYC, this is a show that features two writers, their music and covers of their fave influences. We'll always have a new band curated to the guest artist and new tunes. Our first show features the buttery vocal and sharp, soulful songwriting of Melissa McMillan, and new pals Ross Pederson and Julia Adamy Pederson in the rhythm section. Next up in June will be a vocalist and composer I have long since admired since The Henrys days, Becca Stevens.
